I'm Still Alive, So Why Are My Brothers Burning Paper Money for Me?

On Qingming Festival, Xiao Yi receives word that his wealthy buddy has burned offerings for him.

But to his surprise, he encounters a ghost and dies, becoming a spirit.

Thanks to his buddy burning offerings in advance, he becomes a one-of-a-kind incense-fed ghost. As long as he absorbs incense offerings, he can grow stronger.

So he sets his sights on the temples of the immortals and Buddhas throughout the heavens.

The Earth God: "Master, you're the real master. Could you please stop stealing my incense offerings?"

King Yama: "I'll let you be reincarnated as a human. How about you stop competing with me for incense offerings?"

The Jade Emperor: "Xiao Yi, I'll give you my daughter in marriage, as long as you stop taking my incense offerings. How does that sound?"

Tathagata: "You're a ghost, and you're stealing my incense offerings?"

Facing the assembled immortals and Buddhas, Xiao Yi smiles faintly. "Sorry, but I still prefer incense offerings."
