The Madwoman was honest and had little education, but she was very kind. Her husband eloped with another woman. Pregnant and desperate, she searched everywhere for him without success. When she returned home, her hair turned white overnight, and she lost her mind, becoming a madwoman. The villagers even mocked her over her husband's elopement with a widow, and some would ask her about it to her face.
