A Red Destiny Beneath the Snowy Night

December 23, 2021, was the school's closing ceremony. That day, the coldest snap of the year had arrived, and the surroundings were blanketed in white snow. During her first year of high school, Toyonatsu Me ended her club activities and headed for the station platform. Through the heavy snowfall and poor visibility, she spotted a girl wearing a red scarf on the opposite platform. The instant the girl's figure disappeared into the snow, she saw red slowly spreading across the pure white ground. That day, I truly saw a life come to an end.
