The Western Examination: So This Is What Chinese Thought Really Means!

A Western program testing Eastern people's faith is broadcast live around the world.

What if the consciousness of a veteran from World War II were revived and placed in a virtual world designed for him?

There, the veteran discovers that the country he defended is gone, and his people have been enslaved.

No superiors, no reinforcements, no orders, no comrades-in-arms.

How broken and desperate would he become?

--

Then the veteran, Zhao Jiayuan, appears and charges alone at the "enemy."

He builds a home by himself, saying calmly, "I want to return to the East. I belong there. That is my home. If it is gone, I'll rebuild it, one room at a time. If I can't build a house, I'll pass away peacefully at home."

The whole internet bets he won't last, right up until he chooses to pretend to surrender.

But no one expects that he does so to take the enemy down with him.

Unbowed by countless setbacks, determined to the death, he defies fate through his own strength!

The faith of us Chinese is in ourselves.
