Yang Mi: You Played That Rowdy Suona with Such Class?

Su Chen transmigrates and becomes an entertainer under Yang Mi's agency.

The company signs him up for the newcomer auditions for the top music show, Everlasting Melodies: Chinese Style Season.

But the System mission he has just received is a little bizarre.

Host, post the declaration "I, Su Chen, will win the championship of Everlasting Melodies!" on Douyin.

Reward: professional-level skill at performing on the suona with a raspy voice!

After the video goes up, Boss Yang is both furious and bewildered!

"Su Chen, you haven't even got an entry ticket, and you're already making such a bold claim?"

"What? You're playing the suona at the auditions? That doesn't suit your image at all!"

"What?! For your first performance, you want me to accompany you on the pipa?"

At the audition qualifier, Su Chen performs A Laugh in the Vast Sea on the suona with his raspy-voiced technique, and instantly takes the internet by storm.

"Whoa, isn't the suona known as the hooligan of the musical instrument world? How does it sound so sophisticated?"

"My uncle just passed away. If they'd played this song then, maybe he would've jumped right back up."

"Among all instruments, the suona reigns supreme. It plays at weddings and funerals alike. This style of performance has taken it to a whole new level."
