The Years You and I Shared

I was walking down the main street of the county town. Sunlight filtered through the leaves and fell across the uneven sidewalk. Then a figure appeared before me. In that moment, I was so excited I could barely make a sound. It was her! And in that instant, my memories seemed to return to six years ago...

There was no one else in my eyes; all I could see was you. To me, everyone else was just a tree, while you alone were a verdant mountain. Life is short, so how could it be joyful without you?
