My Wishes Always Come True in the Opposite Way

On the day Xiang Zhu was born, his father bought a wish-granting cake and hoped the mother and child would be safe. Instead, Xiang Zhu's mother died of a massive hemorrhage, and Xiang Zhu weighed 28 jin at birth.

When Xiang Zhu was three, his father wished he would learn to speak. But by the time Xiang Zhu was six, all he could say was "Makka Pakka."

When he was five, his father took him to a temple to make a wish. Xiang Zhu wrote on a piece of paper, "May my mother be at peace in heaven." The next day, a tree beside his mother's grave inexplicably fell over and smashed her tombstone.

At six, Xiang Zhu wished he could skip first grade. His kindergarten closed, so he started first grade early. Then he did so poorly that he had to repeat it, spending two years in first grade.

At fifteen, he wished his father could live to a hundred. The next day, his father contracted lung cancer and died less than two weeks later. Before he passed, he ordered Xiang Zhu never to make another wish. Xiang Zhu obeyed and never wished for anything again.

That is, until after graduating from college, when his girlfriend took all his money and ran off with a rich second-generation heir. Xiang Zhu could take it no longer. The next day, he broke his vow and went to a temple to make a wish:

"I wish the rich guy would love her deeply!"

And then...
