Ming Dynasty: I Died in the Forbidden City from the Start

I have a family. My grandfather, Wanli, was a hopeless romantic who stayed in the palace for decades and loved only one person his whole life.

My father, Guangzong, was a total sucker. A few pretty girls brought him to ruin, and a red pill was all it took to make his name go down in history.

My elder brother, Tianqi, was a gloomy sort. No one could match his carpentry skills, but he lost his life playing in the water.

My younger brother, Chongzhen, was a muddleheaded sort. He worked hard for the country but only made things worse, and ended up dead from a rope tied to a tree.

My ancestor, Zhu Hongwu, started with a single bowl and built an empire.

My name is Zhu Youji. Thanks for asking. I died in the Forbidden City.
