I Just Started Working and Already Slacked Off, So Why Is the Country Ordering Me to Be a Village Chief?

Having watched the world change at breakneck speed, Jiang Tian had hoped to slack off at work and enjoy an easy retirement. Instead, he unexpectedly became the village chief of the poorest village in the country, as well as the nation's only PhD-holding village chief.

Jiang Tian: "What! You want me to help alleviate poverty? I'm not going. I just want to coast along and wait for death!"

Senior Official: "You have to go. It's an official directive! Report there tomorrow!"

Li Hongmei: "Chief, when are we going to eat?"

Sanya: "Jiang Tian, stop thinking about leaving. Stay here and enjoy your retirement. I'll take care of you!"

Bachelor Li: "Chief, I've got my eye on a girl from the neighboring county. Could you lend me some money so I can get a wife?"

Teacher Wu: "Chief, kids from several neighboring villages want to study in our village, but there's no room left in the classrooms!"

Director Zhao: "Chief, traffic's been a little bad lately. Should we build an airport?"

Ever since Jiang Tian took office, he hasn't had a single day off. He'd wanted to coast through life and wait for death, but the villagers come knocking every day. In no time, he has become the chosen wage slave he hates most!!!
