How Is It the Lead Actors' Fault When a Manga Adaptation Ruins a Classic?

When a show gets torn to shreds by critics but you keep following it anyway, it must have a character you like.

Netizens: "This live-action adaptation of a Chinese animated series is awful, not just bad but a complete desecration of a classic. And yet we love watching it."

To fulfill her bet, Boss Yang bought the live-action adaptation rights to a pile of Chinese animated series and famous novels, only to get roasted by netizens.

But despite all these terrible live-action adaptations, netizens still refused to give them low ratings, all because of one person: Lu Qingyun.

From Jing Xuan in Love Through a Prism to Zhao Yuzhen, Shen Qingqiu, the Monk Wuxin, and Li Maozhen...

When he played Wei Zhuang, he even took charge of the theme song. His rendition of "Moonlight" immediately became one of the hardest songs to sing.

For a time, netizens called him "the face of an animated character come to life," and he became their choice for the ultimate male lead from a Chinese animated series.

But that was only the beginning.

In the days just after Lu Qingyun came of age, a parade of actresses lined up, eager to teach him how to shoot kissing scenes.

Even more outrageous, when Lu Qingyun was working a summer job, a director pulled him in to play the young First Emperor. Netizens have been thinking about him ever since.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to real people or events is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
