The Record of the Strange Immortal

After Fang Zheng returned home from his grandfather's funeral, he felt that something about the world was off. Why had so many strange and extraordinary people suddenly appeared, each seemingly like an immortal? Why had all the technological devices vanished, and why was everyone dressed as though they'd just stepped out of the Middle Ages? And why did the little girl next door keep staring at him so strangely, always telling him that after graduation he had to try his luck at Yuehui University?

Fang Zheng thought he must be going crazy. His trembling hand dialed the psychiatric hospital, but after thinking about the miserable state of its patients, he decided he might still be salvageable.

Suddenly, his master's words flashed through his mind like a burst of inspiration: "Good disciple, if this world ever changes, take out these few immortal scriptures and have a look. They're only fragments of the Thirty-Six Transformations, but they're still pretty incredible."

His master's gleaming front teeth appeared in his mind, and Fang Zheng understood.
