My Cutting-Edge Technology Alarmed the Nation

3 a.m., a military region in the south.

Chen Deng, a regimental staff officer, knocks on the door of Long Wangzhong, deputy commander of the Intelligence and Communications Regiment:

"Commander, urgent military news. The fishing boat that sank in our fishing waters at around 3 p.m. yesterday has been found, but all seven people aboard are still missing."

Long Wangzhong checks his watch:

"It's been 12 hours. Why are you only reporting this now?"

Chen Deng explains:

"The fog was too thick over the fishing waters yesterday, so we couldn't detect the boat's signal. It wasn't until 7 p.m., when the boat still hadn't returned after dark, that the fishermen who'd gone out with it reported it missing. The Navy Operations Department sent out warships to search, and they only found the wreck in the fishing waters seven minutes ago. But the seven people aboard still haven't been found."

Long Wangzhong slaps the table:

"Why haven't we solved the problem of fog disrupting signals yet? And why weren't we notified that warships had been sent out to search?"

Chen Deng continues:

"Commander, as for the signal problem, the Beidou satellite has recently malfunctioned and is still being repaired. As for the warships being sent out to search, I reported it to you yesterday."

What?

He had already reported it?
