Journey to the West: Dark Myth, Beginning with the Destruction of Buddhism

Some time ago, a wandering storyteller arrived in Dongsheng Shenzhou.

At every tavern, he would ask for three bowls of wine, then tell everyone a tale of the gods.

"Guanyin was actually Tang Sanzang's junior sister, and Sun Wukong's little shiniang."

"Tang Sanzang never practiced Buddhism at all. Apart from getting his hair permed, he did everything: eating meat, drinking wine, and smoking."

"Zhu Bajie and Chang'e were a genuine couple. It was just that the old Jade Emperor became the other man."

"Sha Wujing used to be a spy in the Heavenly Court. He only came to his senses later."

"Sun Wukong had actually already died at the hands of the Tathagata back then…"

"All the gods and Buddhas in heaven had actually died once before. They were killed by the four-member group, and then the Heavenly Dao…"

The wanderer's tales shocked countless mortals.

They all thought the storyteller was crazy,

until the gods of the Three Realms came to make him shut up, and the wanderer sat high above the Ninth Heaven.

Only then did the mortals realize, "So everything he told us was true!"

This is a different, dark take on Journey to the West. Come and read it!
