Those Years of the Paranormal Mister

Maybe it was the emptiness and fear in my heart, or maybe it was because I had read too many excerpts from horror novels. I stood shivering in the cold wind, and my fear only grew worse. To work up my courage, I hummed softly and hurried onward. As I walked, a white figure suddenly appeared ahead. My steps stopped without my realizing it, and my singing fell silent. Could that be a ghost? No, it couldn't be...

My toes suddenly felt cold, and a chill rose from deep within me... Honestly, at the time, I really wanted to scream, "A ghost!" and turn around and run.
