Notes from My Life as a Taoist Priest

I was born with deep purple marks around my wrists, as if ropes had been tied around them. My maternal grandmother said I was the reincarnation of someone who died unjustly, and that my life in this world was bound to be troubled! My master said the scariest thing in the world isn't ghosts, but the human heart!

I'm someone who doesn't believe in fate. I once had all sorts of grand ambitions, but I never imagined I'd become a young Taoist priest! I became the successor to a secret sect, and from then on entered a strange and treacherous world of mystical arts...

Ancient legends, secret sects, a spirit infant and its little sword-wielding attendant, headless flying corpse magic, a corpse guarding a villa, a wealth-stealing ghost on a money-attracting plate, gold-carrying slaves beneath a golden tower, the search for an ancient compass left behind by the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, opening the meridian gates of the four great sacred mountains, the four imprisoned progenitors of the jiangshi, and an uncanny alternate world where the impossible happens. It's all in The Young Taoist's Notebook!
