Burying the Famous Flower

"A half-life adrift like duckweed, following the flowing water; one smile, and the cold rain buries a famed flower." The heroine's fate is like the flower described in Nalan Xingde's poem. For half her life, she drifts like duckweed on the current. Though born to the highest station, she is thrust into peril as one relative after another dies. She scrapes by within the palace walls, yet longs to break free of fate's shackles, overturn the rotten order, and maneuver step by step. She seeks to avenge her blood relatives and bring peace to the world, yet things that seem to go smoothly often turn against her, making her another pawn in someone else's game. In the end, her lovely bones are left to the dust and sand, and her fate wanders to the ends of the earth.
