The Money-Losing Director: I Never Care About the Box Office

Lu Bei transmigrates and becomes a film director, activating the Lose Money System. All he has to do is run a deficit to receive a hundredfold return.

Lose 500,000 and get 50 million in return.

What's it like to make movies without worrying about losing money or needing investors?

So, during university, Lu Bei churns out one awful movie after another.

Pure Heart: Chasing the Dream of Show Business, starring a doctoral supervisor from Dongying University of Film, gets one-star reviews from 99.93% of viewers and is ranked the number-one worst movie on a certain film-rating site.

He makes Nuwa's War Chronicle, a heavily altered Investiture of the Gods. It gets a rating of 1.9 on a certain film-rating site, surpassing 99.99% of the world's worst movies.

He invests 150 million in The Death of Optimus Prime, which grosses just 300,000 at the box office and sets a new low for bad movies worldwide.

Every film loses money, and every movie flops, yet Northern Group makes a miraculous comeback, expanding into digital hardware, gaming, entertainment, and other fields, and becoming one of the world's three biggest unicorn companies.

But when reporters interview him, Lu Bei pours out his grievances.

"I'm really not some investment genius!"

"At first, all I wanted was to lose 500,000..."
