Ten Years Alone on a Border Island, Never Once Bending My Back

A documentary about my ten years stationed on a remote island brought the entire internet to tears.

Lin Ming transmigrated to a parallel world, where he received orders to serve on a remote island in the South China Sea and plant the national flag on the southernmost land.

For ten years, day in and day out, he guarded the boundary of the country's waters.

Then one day, after stopping tourists from visiting the island and using force to drive them away, he was exposed online by a blogger with tens of millions of followers.

As public outrage grew more intense and the entire internet condemned him,

TV stations across the country began airing a documentary about Lin Ming's ten years on the island during prime time.

Alone for ten years, he fell asleep to the crashing waves

Conversation became a luxury; even a plane passing overhead brought comfort

Even when a storm struck, he never let the national flag fall from the island

He never bowed his head, standing tall even before the warships of other nations

Why is there peace? Because some people carry the burden for us

As the documentary aired,

people across the country were filled with guilt and moved to tears. By then, tears were already streaming down their faces...
