Great Ming: Uncle, I Beg You, Act Like a Person

Zhu Lang transmigrates to the seventh year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty and becomes a small landowner in the countryside.

From the start, he sells off his family’s property for silver notes, planning to visit relatives in the capital and make a fortune.

His relative is none other than the current emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang. According to their clan’s seniority, the emperor should call him Great-Uncle.

On the way to the capital, Zhu Lang learns that when Zhu Yuanzhang was down on his luck, he served as a servant in Zhu Lang’s household for three years and suffered endless humiliation. Given his temperament, he is bound to take terrible revenge.

Zhu Lang is completely stunned. To protect himself, he begins matching wits and wills with the Hongwu Emperor!

So, on arriving in the capital, he first puts on a show of poverty, successfully winning the sympathy of the emperor and his sons. Then he snatches Hu Weiyong’s position as Left Chancellor and throws his weight around by virtue of his age.

The princes: How can someone be this awful!

Hu Weiyong: Your Majesty, this old ancestor of yours is really something!

Zhu Yuanzhang: Great-Uncle, I beg you, act like a decent person! Our Zhu family isn’t this shameless!
