One Song, 'Dusk,' and I Awaken the Golden Age of Chinese Pop

Years after leaving the music industry, Gu Chen had been living quietly and devoting himself to charity when someone came knocking.

They invited him to appear on a music show, and Gu Chen gladly accepted.

On the show, his rendition of "Dusk" took listeners back to the golden age of Chinese pop.

Yet the younger generation criticized him and refused to acknowledge his talent. He was eliminated in the very first round.

Gu Chen's fans erupted!

Countless classic songs associated with Gu Chen resurfaced, including songs he had sung himself and songs he had written for others.

"Blue and White Porcelain," "Too Much," "Blue Lotus," "Ten Years," "Red Bean," "Fairy Tale," "Courage," "Jiangnan"...

Song after song, album sales figures, chart rankings, and all kinds of awards and honors were laid out for everyone to see.

Fans: "We're just old, not dead!"

Countless people were stunned. It turned out this man had created so many classic songs.

What on earth has happened to today's music scene?

Chinese pop can't do without Gu Chen, just as the anime world can't do without Tifa!
