Showbiz 1986: Starting by Hitching a Ride on My Big Brother's Coattails

Gu Tian transmigrated to a parallel world!

Hong Kong, 1986!

With a V-shaped torso, a firm waist, and eight-pack abs, his otherwise ordinary looks caught the eye of the agent of the hugely popular Leslie Cheung, who offered him a chance.

Sign a contract?

There was no way he was signing on to be someone's errand boy!

Gu Tian decisively latched onto "Gor Gor" Leslie Cheung!

Starting with convincing Gor Gor Leslie Cheung to star in the low-budget film A Better Tomorrow, then moving on to A Chinese Ghost Story, Fei Lu Si Hai, and more, he reaped both fame and fortune and came out on top!

Leslie Cheung: "Tian loves joking around. He says he's clinging to my coattails? Everyone knows I'm the one clinging to his!"

Joey Wong: "The only reason I played Nie Xiaoqian was that Gu Tian convinced me!"

Brigitte Lin: "Want to know why I played Dongfang Bubai? Go ask Gu Tian!"

Gu Tian: "As everyone knows, I owe my fame, fortune, successful career, and happy love life not to my talent or looks, but to clinging to Gor Gor Leslie Cheung's coattails."
