I Returned Home After a Century Away Serving My Country, Only to Find My Taoist Temple Stolen

My name is Lin Ze, and I'm a Daoist priest. A hundred years ago, when our country was in peril, my master led us fellow disciples down the mountain to defend our homeland. After eight years of fighting, I died in battle at the mouth of the Songjiang River on Mount Dawu.

My soul reached the underworld, but because I was clad in merit and was a disciple of the Mystic Sect, I was appointed a ghost constable. After a century in the underworld, my astonishing talent even made me the successor to the Great Emperor of Fengdu. But all I wanted was to go home.

Later, when the underworld needed me to capture evil spirits, it finally let me return to life in another body. The first thing I thought of was going back to my temple.

But who could have guessed... I couldn't even get through the temple's front gate. They wanted me to pay for a ticket?

I went down the mountain to serve my country, and when I returned a century later, my home had been stolen.

Furious, I yelled curses at the entrance, unaware that someone was livestreaming the whole thing and recording it.

After that, I became famous. To survive in the human world long-term,

I livestream fortune-telling, solve cases on video, unravel the curse of a haunted building, and help a drowned ghost beneath a bridge clear his name, all while being a good citizen in this new era.

I even manage to stream directly into the underworld... Viewers who watched me while alive can still see me after they die.
