Urban: Chinese Firefighters, Mission Guaranteed

"I volunteer to join the national fire service, protecting the lives and property of the people. I will fulfill every mission, and serving is the highest honor..."

Beneath a blue sky and white clouds, Zhao Ming'an recited the oath aloud, becoming a firefighter willing to brave fire and water for the people.

After becoming a firefighter, his life was sometimes heartwarming and hilarious.

"Is this 119? This is 110. We have a suspect whose handcuffs won't come off. Could you come help? Our police dog also fell into a ravine. Could you fish it out while you're here?"

"I can't open my piggy bank. Could you help me with it?"

And sometimes, it was a world of fire and danger.

"A once-in-a-century flood has struck Nanhe Province. Proceed immediately to provide support."

"A forest fire has broken out on Jingyun Mountain. Proceed immediately to put it out."

"A magnitude 6.8 earthquake has struck Luding. Provide support at once."

This story is dedicated to every firefighter who rushes to the front lines...
