The Legend of Qi Ji

Buddha's light cannot keep me from entering the mortal world

I raise my head and see the first glimmer of Buddha's light

Yet when I lower it, I can never escape the threads of our lives

Wandering through time, finding warmth in the cracks

Your shadow blurs my vision once more

A fleeting glimpse, a chance encounter

Your eyes shimmer, your face veiled in shyness

Even the lightest touch sends a jolt through me

My heart is the moon, your shadow falls on the mountain spring

Our love in this life, our eternal vows

How could I forget the wish I've carried all my life?

But fate is cruel

Who can bear to watch the world, its people laid waste?

I swing the sword in my hand, putting an end to the chaos

Armor and sword, trampling frost and wind all along the road

The battlefield's iron hooves, the cold autumn moonlight

Guarding the bloodstained walls as the enemy closes in

Yet they cannot sever the bonds of love between us

I promised you that the land would know peace, and I'd adorn myself for you

But now, none of it can ever come to pass

Only the deserted temple remains

And the past we cannot return to

Struggling through pain, falling asleep in memories
