A Promise Beneath the Cherry Blossom Tree

The moment Mu Xiyan stepped through the door, the entire classroom fell silent. You could hear a pin drop, and everyone's eyes widened. They looked as if they'd seen a ghost! A minute passed, and the silence continued... Two minutes passed, and still it continued... Mei Ya finally couldn't take it anymore. She took Mu Xiyan by the hand and led her to an empty seat. Only then did a low murmur rise from the classroom. Needless to say, everyone was talking about her. No... they should say Bai Lanxin!

"Lanxin, this used to be your seat. Do you remember?" Mei Ya asked softly, her eyes full of confusion.

Mu Xiyan glanced at Mei Ya and awkwardly tugged at the corner of her mouth. "I don't remember."

"That's okay. I'll help you remember the past bit by bit! But there's one person you probably haven't forgotten, right?" Mei Ya watched her carefully and asked tentatively.

"Who?" Mu Xiyan sat down and looked up at her.
