The Jade-Loving Concubine's Tale

He Xiyu, a concubine-born daughter of the Zhou Kingdom, should have been the legitimate daughter. But her father married a high official's daughter to advance his career, turning her mother from his principal wife into a concubine and He Xiyu from a legitimate daughter into a concubine-born one.

Years later, the young girl nearly gets married off by her greed-crazed father to an old man old enough to be her grandfather.

She flees in a hurry with her maid to find her lover, only to be betrayed by her "legitimate younger sister"...

By a twist of fate, He Xiyu becomes a dancer in the home of the merchant Liu Bochen...
