Great Ming: I Told You to Guard the Border, but You Left the Gates Wide Open

In the eighth year of the Hongwu era, Liu Bowen resigned and returned to the countryside. Using an excuse, he went to seek the protection of Zhu Fu, Prince of Qi, who guarded the border.

When he reached Datong on the frontier, he found that the people of this bitterly cold region lived in peace and prosperity. There were also all kinds of factories, residential districts, roads, and other marvels he had never even heard of.

Just as Liu Bowen was marveling at Prince Qi Zhu Fu's capable governance,

he suddenly noticed countless Tartars roaming the border region.

Could His Highness Prince Qi be colluding with the Tartars and plotting rebellion?

As he ventured further,

Liu Bowen grew more and more alarmed.

Hot-air balloons, gliders, cars...

Gunpowder, munitions factories...

When he reached the border pass, Liu Bowen was about to lose his mind.

You were told to guard the border, and instead you've thrown the gates wide open and let other enemy nations in?

The Tartars: The Tartars and the Ming are one big happy family.

European colonists: Zhu Fu has tanks, but he's selling us tractors?

Japanese pirates: We're still using wooden boats, and you've got aircraft carriers?

Zhu Yuanzhang: I told you to guard the border, so how come all the nations are paying tribute now?
