Livestream: This Food Tour Is So Addictive, Real or Fake Chefs, Speak Up!

Restaurant reviewers are everywhere, but who’s the real deal? Let’s hear it from a real chef!

Tang Ren, a disciple of a master chef who cooked for state banquets and a head chef at the Hilton, opens his eyes to find he has transmigrated to a parallel world and become a restaurant-review streamer...

Reviewing the Imperial Kitchen Restaurant from the start?

Well, this one’s really something! Red alert!

But the other reviewer with him, the Authentic Beijing Guy, opens his mouth and starts going on about authenticity, claiming old Beijing has no good food and that everything is fussy for the sake of appearances?

Tang Ren doesn’t hold back, immediately giving his verdict.

“Your ‘Dragon in a Pearl’ dish, with the sea cucumber still buried in sand? It’s so natural, I’m getting a mouthful of sand!”

“This pea-flour cake is just like that famous line from some ridiculous anti-Japanese war drama... You put in too much sugar.”

“This palace-style crispy duck is so dry, I’d get more juice out of a live duck by biting into it!”

“You’re just not hungry!”

“Tell the emperor to go ten days without eating, then see what happens. What do you think? His whole clan gets executed!”
