Great Ming: From the Start, I Defied Zhu Di and Asked to Be Sent Overseas

Zhu Gaoyu, a modern shipbuilding engineer, transmigrated one day and became the fourth son of Prince of Yan Zhu Di.

What else was there to think about?

Build ships! Set sail! Establish a Ming Empire where the sun never sets!

Zhu Gaoyu began laying the groundwork from a young age. He even found an opportunity to make a promise with his father, Zhu Di: once the Jingnan Campaign succeeded, Zhu Di would grant him a fief overseas.

But when the campaign was won and Zhu Gaoyu was ready to make his father honor the promise,

Zhu Di instead discussed with his ministers making him Prince of Wu, and even picked the prosperous Lin'an Prefecture as his fief.

Zhu Gaoyu: "???"

"Father, that's not what you told me back then. You promised I could lead the Ming fleet to glory across the seas."

"If you do this, I'll have no choice but to defy your decree!"

Zhu Di: "You insolent brat! You dare defy my decree?"

"Then you can forget about ever going to sea!"

Many years later,

looking at the vast territory of the Ming Empire, Zhu Di sighed, "I nearly made a terrible mistake back then."
