Chronicles of a Hundred Provinces

"What? The Confucian sect's thirty thousand heavenly gods have all perished, the Daoist sect's hundred thousand gods are gone, the Witch sect's countless spirit witches have ascended, and the Buddhist sect's countless rakshasas and Wisdom Kings have passed on?!"

Scholars from every school in the academy cried out in unison. The four teachings had suffered a devastating blow.

"So the Historians really are that formidable."

The students of the Historians' academy felt deeply fortunate. Looking at the imposing plaque before them, they were filled with pride.

"In just a few years, they rose from nothing. The name of the White Sage is truly terrifying."

Someone couldn't help but draw in a sharp breath.

Far away, Bai Qi had just carried out the funeral rites for the gods of the old era. He gazed with satisfaction at the decayed remnants, then looked into the distance and declared proudly:

"We record things with our pens so that future generations may understand who we are today. We study the deeds of the sages so that we may carry on their will.

History is the backbone of the people!

And we Historians are the ones who straighten that backbone, the ones who carry on the sages' will, the ones who explore the whole world across the hundred provinces!

Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism, and Shamanism may suppress us for one generation, but they cannot suppress us for generations to come. In this age, the road ahead shines bright!"
