Stories by Lamplight

On a sudden whim, I realized it had been ages since I last wrote a horror or supernatural story. But after a month of facing the real world, I felt like I should write some of it down. Life is full of strange and mysterious things. Of course, my writing isn't all that polished, but I'll do my best to describe what happened in detail. As the old saying goes, it's better to believe such things exist than to believe they don't. Some things in this world defy explanation, and that only adds to their air of mystery. They also give people something to chat about over a meal, making the food taste even better.

I'm twenty-four, and I've encountered three strange and mysterious stories so far. If I need more material later, readers are welcome to submit stories or message me and share the strange things that have happened around them. We'll tell one story in detail in each chapter.

Imagine you're alone in a room. You turn on a light, and its beam falls directly onto the table. All around you is darkness, endless shadows pressing close beyond the circle of light. The trees sway and rustle softly. Perhaps it's the silence of the night, or perhaps it's their silence in the darkness.

Enough talk. Let's begin the story.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
