Great Ming: The Greatest Monk, Begged by Old Zhu to Return to Secular Life

In the sixth year of Hongwu, there was a monk who was often improperly dressed and came and went within the palace.

Under his influence, the Second Prince, Zhu Shuang, spent the night in a brothel instead of attending court; the Fourth Prince, Zhu Di, grabbed the eldest Xu daughter by the hand in front of everyone; and the Eighth Prince, Zhu Zi, crawled through a dog hole to spy on pretty young women bathing...

Hu Weiyong, Right Chancellor of the Central Secretariat, joined with the officials in submitting a petition, begging Zhu Yuanzhang to have the lecherous monk put to death before he corrupted the palace and led the princes astray.

"I have three questions. If anyone can answer them, I'll do as you ask."

"The Empress has a few days each month when she's in low spirits. Why?"

"If my grandson asks where babies come from, what should I tell him?"

"The Crown Prince's children concern the very foundations of the state. He's been married for two years, and the imperial physicians say both he and his wife are healthy. So why haven't I held a grandson yet?"

Zhu Yuanzhang looked at the officials below, their faces strange and their tongues tied, then suddenly burst into laughter.

"The Crown Princess, Lady Chang, was diagnosed as pregnant yesterday!"

"I might as well tell you: it's all thanks to the Master!"
