The Mecha Have All Taken to the Skies, and You're Telling Me It's a Movie?

Wandering Earth opened the door for Chinese sci-fi films, but the newly released Shanghai Fortress shut it, locked it, and even damn well welded it closed!

Even foreigners are mocking us, saying we can't make good science fiction films!

Lin Bei has just transmigrated here. Seeing no hope for the rise of Chinese sci-fi, and with the System now online, he would rather sell everything he owns than not make a truly hard-science-fiction film in China!

After a trailer is released, people across the internet start raising money on their own!

Filming begins, and reporter Bingbing visits for a livestream. When everyone sees a giant mech dozens of meters tall rise into the sky above the sea, they are stunned!

Lin Bei: Come see Around the Zero-Degree Ocean in ten days!

Netizens: The mechs are flying into the sky, and you expect us to believe you're filming a movie?
