From 1582 to 1601, in October of 1601, the twenty-ninth year of Wanli, Emperor Wanli finally established his eldest son Zhu Changluo as the crown prince, his third son Zhu Changxun as Prince Fu, fifth son Zhu Changhao as Prince Rui, sixth son Zhu Changrun as Prince Hui, and seventh son Zhu Changying as Prince Gui. The struggle for the country finally came to an end. This was the most intense and complex political incident in the Wanli period. The four chief ministers of the cabinet, Shen Shixing, Wang Jiaping, Zhao Zhigao, and Wang Xijue, were forced to resign. More than ten ministerial-level officials were involved, and more than 300 central and local officials were involved. More than 100 of them were dismissed, dismissed, and sent to the army to rectify the Donglin Party.
