Journey to the West: Why Beg for Scriptures When You Can Take Them by Force?

"The Great Hall of the Western Spirit Mountain in the Western Heaven, screened by bamboo groves, with towering watchtowers, easy to defend and difficult to attack, impossible to breach even with ten thousand men..."

Li Er: "What does that mean?"

"This fellow Tang bought his identity as a Pilgrim. I bought it so I could make a fortune from treasures, and I don't like taking treasures from poor people."

Li Er: "Then whose treasures do you want to take?"

"Whoever has the most treasures!"

Li Er: "And who has the most treasures?"

"You!"

Li Er: "I like your straightforwardness! Royal Brother, take whatever you want."

"I'm no bandit! I'm a virtuous monk. A virtuous monk has to make his fortune from treasures in a proper and legitimate way."

Li Er: "Proper and legitimate?"

"I have a connection in the Western Heaven. The risk is a little high, but the profits are very good."

Tang Sanzang waved his hand and continued, "Once the job is done, we'll split the treasures, seventy-thirty. You don't have to thank me too much. My rule in life is that when there's food, we all eat together, and when there are treasures, we all make a fortune together."
