Zhu Yuanzhang Faked His Death and Made Me Acting Regent

After transmigrating to the twenty-fifth year of Hongwu, he became Zhu Yuanzhang's fifth son, Prince Zhou Zhu Su.

As luck would have it, Zhu Yuanzhang caught a cold on the very day of Zhu Su's first court audience. He issued an imperial decree appointing Zhu Su to govern in his place.

In less than three days, word spread that the emperor had died.

"Your Highness, there is a severe drought in the northwest. What should we do?"

"It's fine. I have sweet potatoes!"

"Your Highness, floods are frequent in Huguang. What should we do?"

"It's fine. I have cement!"

While acting as regent, Zhu Su executed corrupt officials, overhauled commerce, expanded the territory, and quelled rebellions.

Each of his accomplishments astonished the supposedly dead Zhu Yuanzhang, who began enjoying retirement ahead of schedule.

"Why don't I just pretend I'm really dead?"

"Father, how can you say that? You're the emperor, and I'm only acting as regent!"

"Then I'll make you crown prince!"

Step by step, Zhu Su turned the Great Ming into the mightiest empire.
