War of Resistance: You Develop Your Forces Alone, Then Bring Back a Whole Division?

In 1942, during the Japanese army's first major sweep, the Independent Regiment suffered heavy losses.

To preserve the revolutionary cause, Li Yunlong broke the entire regiment into small units and sent them to develop independently.

Three months later, the whole regiment assembled:

First Battalion Commander Zhang Dabiao: My battalion isn't very big, just over a thousand men, plus a few heavy and light machine guns.

Second Battalion Commander Shen Quan: My battalion has only a little over nine hundred men, plus a few Italian cannons.

Third Battalion Commander Wang Huaibao: I can't compare with you two. I don't have any decent weapons, just a few thousand men.

Just as everyone was congratulating themselves, an armored division appeared before them.

A tank battalion, a cavalry battalion, an artillery regiment, a special forces unit...

Zhu Hongzhen: My development was pretty average too. I only have this little bit.

Zhao Gang: Old Li, this is incredible! You're about to become a division commander!
