The Years I Spent as a Sweeper Monk at the Temple

A lone star of ill fortune, reborn into the world.

He brings death to everyone in the village, young and old.

He wants nothing more than to die,

but instead, he enters the Buddhist order.

The Buddhist temple is a place for spiritual cultivation.

Put down your butcher's knife and submit to your fate!

They say there is a temple on Green Mountain.

This temple has a remarkable history. The former emperor once suffered hardship there, and was saved from danger by the temple's abbot.

Later, after the former emperor eliminated the threat, he repaid the abbot for saving his life by having the temple renovated several times.

Today, the temple is thriving, with incense smoke rising in abundance. During one renovation, a feng shui master told the former emperor that the temple stood on a sacred site for cultivating immortality, shrouded in immortal mist. Anyone with the aptitude to cultivate immortality would make great strides there. Word gets around, and among the many who now offer incense, there are plenty who have come to pursue immortality.
