One Song, 'The Lonely Brave,' Made Me the Godfather of Elementary Schoolers

After being frozen out by his company for three years, Lin Yao was heartlessly dropped from his contract. He then created the first Chinese theme song for a League of Legends animated series, "Lone Warrior," as an independent musician for Riot Games.

What Lin Yao never expected was this.

After "Lone Warrior" became a huge hit, Lin Yao was astonished to discover that ninety percent of his fans were elementary school students. The media even dubbed him the godfather of elementary school students.

Under these circumstances, Lin Yao went on to create a string of songs beloved by students, including "Against the War," "Warriors, Fight!", "CrossFire," "Breaking Out of the Cocoon," "Or Break Through," and "The Winner Takes All."

So while other singers held concerts where the entire adult audience quietly sang along,

Lin Yao's concerts were filled with students in school uniforms and red scarves, enthusiastically waving glow sticks and singing along.

One parent: "If it weren't for my son, I wouldn't have known there was such a great song."

Another parent: "Other celebrities are one thing, but when it comes to a positive role model like Lin Yao, my son and I are both fans."
