Journey to the West: I'm a Mastermind Behind the Scenes Too

Ji Kang was doing a good deed when he rescued several boys from drowning, but ended up losing his own life. Only after arriving in the underworld did he learn that his family background was outrageously powerful: he was a direct descendant of the Great Emperor Ziwei, one of the Four Heavenly Emperors. He had planned to be an aimless, idle immortal heir, but things did not go the way he expected. Not only did he embark on the path of cultivation, he was also sent into Journey to the West to serve as the mastermind behind the scenes. Well, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. If I'm going to be the mastermind, then I'll show you how a modern man can turn Journey to the West on its head. Wukong and I share a bond as master and disciple, while Tianpeng and I are as close as brothers. The Journey to the West I ended up in is definitely not the one you've read about.
