Cultivation: Beginning in the Modern Age of Declining Magic

Li Yuan is terminally ill. In an attempt to save himself, he sets out to pursue the martial arts.

But weighed down by his illness, the more he trains, the weaker his body becomes.

During a trip to Mount Huang, Li Yuan unexpectedly embarks on the path of cultivation.

From then on, in this modern age when spiritual energy has run dry, Li Yuan becomes the world's only cultivator.

At the same time, his cultivation makes him a pioneer of a new realm in the martial arts.

To gather the spiritual energy he needs for cultivation, Li Yuan travels all over the world.

Along the way, he:

Fights against modern firearms,

Crosses the ocean alone,

Slays giant beasts in the deep sea,

Wipes out armed pirates single-handedly,

And withstands missile strikes in Africa, among other feats. These events make Li Yuan famous throughout the world and turn him into a figure feared by every nation.

Until one day, Li Yuan reaches Mars and leaves the solar system. The world erupts.
