Snow Drifts Across the Galaxy

Other cultivators advance through nine levels in each realm. When Wang Qing cultivates, his Qi Refining stage has twelve levels. He assumed every realm would have twelve levels from then on, but after reaching the Foundation Establishment stage, he discovered that wasn't the case. He cultivated to level twelve in Foundation Establishment and realized that wasn't the limit. He thought there would be twenty-four levels, with each realm gaining twelve more. But when he reached level twenty-four, he realized things weren't working the way he had imagined. He could keep cultivating even after level twenty-four. It wasn't addition! It might be multiplication! He kept cultivating until he reached level one hundred and forty-four in Foundation Establishment, only then advancing to the Golden Core stage. In Golden Core, he cultivated to a terrifying level of one thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight before advancing to the Nascent Soul stage. At last, Wang Qing understood: this wasn't simple multiplication either. It was cultivation by powers of the universe.
