Deng'er, who was born in a remote rural area, is as mentally retarded as a blank slate. He has a lot of relatives at home, several friends, and several boyfriends, all of whom have their own agendas. He stumbles on the road to pursuing happiness. Sometimes it is better to die, but he is a big-hearted person who laughs and pretends to be crazy. Is human nature inherently good or inherently evil? There's no ending, right?
