I Kept Vigil for My Comrades for Seventy Years, Then Back to Field Exposed Me

Season Six of Mushroom House began filming in a small fishing village in the south.

By chance, Zifeng spotted a grand little courtyard in the distance, where a centenarian lived alone.

Did the old man live alone because he had no children?

With the old man's permission, everyone entered the courtyard and was stunned.

Dozens of tombstones stood in the small yard.

Looking at their astonished faces, the old man said calmly, "They're all comrades who died in battle. I promised them we'd watch the sea and drink together. We've been doing it for seventy years."

A gentleman keeps his word. The old man had watched over his comrades' graves for seventy years, and everyone was moved by the old hero.

When they learned that those buried beneath the tombstones were the real-life inspirations for Zhou Yi from The Cliff, Wei Heshang from Drawing Sword, and Zuo Qiuming from The Rebel, they became even more curious about the old man's identity.

One day, the old hero knelt and laid a skeleton before Wei Heshang's tombstone.

"Heshang, today's your death anniversary. I brought you a Japanese soldier to go with your drink."
