Journey to the West: I Am the Monk Xuanzang, Leveling Up by Slaying Monsters

He transmigrates into Journey to the West and becomes Xuanzang.

At Lingyun Crossing beneath the Great Thunderclap Temple, he is supposed to cast off his mortal body and become the Sandalwood Merit Buddha...

Wouldn't that mean he dies while Jin Chanzi becomes a Buddha?

Faced with this mortal danger, he is lucky to awaken a golden finger that lets him level up by fighting monsters and looting gear.

From then on, a very different Tang Monk appears in the world of Journey to the West!

"You cheeky monkey, put down that staff and let your master handle this!"

"Senior Brother, we're in trouble! Master beat all the demons away!"

"Xuanzang, I now confer upon you the title of Victorious Fighting Buddha..."

"Silence! One of the Eighty-One Tribulations is still missing. Today, you'll be the last one. I'll kill the Buddha and seize the scriptures!"
