Great Qin: I Work Nine to Five, and the First Emperor Is Fuming

Li Qingyun transmigrates to the Qin Empire and becomes the magistrate of Xiang County in Changsha Commandery.

On his first day in office, he awakens the Nine-to-Five System.

As long as he clocks in and out on time each day, he can earn a mountain of rewards, the likes of which the Qin Empire has never seen.

Of course, weekends off are nonnegotiable!

But this is the Qin Empire.

Even the First Emperor, far away in Xianyang, spends every day attending court and poring over memorials.

From top to bottom, officials under the First Emperor work by the motto "nine to five"!

Is Li Qingyun looking for trouble because he's so far away, or is he worried the emperor's sword has gone too long without tasting blood?

Until the thirty-sixth year of the First Emperor's reign.

November, winter.

A middle-aged man and a young man barge into the courtyard.

They demand to know why Li Qingyun has left the office at five in the afternoon, while he's drinking and eating meat.

Doesn't he know that the emperor in Xianyang is busy with state affairs, working late into the night to review memorials?

Li Qingyun: "No raise, no overtime pay. I'll never work overtime in my life!"

At those words, the middle-aged man flies into a rage...
