A Stranger in a Foreign Land

Long Si left his mountain village and rented a storefront in the market town to run a small business. He got married, had a child, and scraped by. Then one day, at a wedding banquet, he was insulted by the guests, got into an argument, and, emboldened by drink, came to blows. As the saying goes, onlookers love to fan the flames. With the crowd egging them on, Long Si was beaten black and blue and thrown beside a trash can. In the middle of the night, a beggar carried him back to a bridge and nursed him back to health.

His wife divorced him and took their child, leaving Long Si with nothing. He ended up living with the beggar. The old beggar gave him a package and asked him to deliver it to Qingshui City, to a man named He Jiu. Long Si left Taoyuan Town, and the events of his journey changed his life...
