A Chronicle of Heroes

If one day you meet someone in this world who looks exactly like you, don't panic. That person is your "fated counterpart."

When God created the world, He made countless "molds" to hold souls. The mold is the physical body, and though countless, they are finite. Since then, their number has never changed.

When a soul leaves its mold and goes to the underworld, that life comes to an end. But the molds reappear in this world again and again, separated by hundreds of years to keep anyone from noticing.

The souls who inhabit the same mold call one another "fated counterparts."

It is a secret, one that had never been discovered since time immemorial.

That is, until the great plague half a century ago ravaged the entire world. Countless lives were lost, and hundreds of millions of souls poured into the underworld, putting its barrier under an unprecedented threat.

First came the great figures renowned throughout history. Their souls were immensely powerful, allowing them to break free of the barrier's limits and seek out the molds they had inhabited in past lives. As the barrier gradually crumbled, even the unknown dead grew restless, trying to escape the sunless tomb of souls.

Fated counterparts began appearing everywhere, and the world started to change.
