When you?
——Yeats Ireland
When you sleep, your head feels numb, and you feel sleepy,
Dozing by the stove, please take down this hymn,
Read slowly, recalling the softness of your eyes in the past,
Recall their former heavy shadows;
How much? Love you when you are young and happy?,
Admiring your beauty, fake or true?,
Only one loves your pilgrim soul,
Love the painful wrinkles on your aging face;
Lowering his head, beside the glowing red stove,
Telling the loss of love softly and sadly,
Overhead it paced slowly,
Hidden among the stars is the face.
