This House Is Haunted

Chen Guangming, a young man who had moved to Beijing to seek his fortune, attended a third-rate university and worked nights at a convenience store. He studied hard while working part-time, living frugally to pay off his student loans and rent.

After an accident made Chen Guangming late with his rent, his iron-fisted landlord threw him out, leaving him homeless. Just then, a stranger offered to show Chen Guangming a luxurious apartment. Water and electricity were included, and the rent was only a thousand yuan. There was just one condition: he could not move out until he found the next tenant. Chen Guangming thought his luck had finally turned around, and signed the lease on the spot.

When his friends heard he'd moved, they all came to stay with him, but one haunting incident after another soon followed. An old friend from primary school was dragged into it too, and ended up on the verge of death.

Chen Guangming only wanted to return to his ordinary life, but had no idea what to do. Fortunately, a regular customer at the convenience store came to his rescue. The customer looked like a homeless man, but, astonishingly, was an expert in Taoist magic. After the expert enlightened him, Chen Guangming learned the apartment's secret: it was a barrier trapping vengeful spirits, and he had taken the landlord's place as the target of the evil spirits' revenge..
